Plane trees in Lygon Street Carlton

Postby MelbourneArthur » Thu Nov 02, 2017 2:07 pm

Hello Gang,
how many people have felt coughing and throat constriction due to those fine hairs that are blown off the bulbs of Plane Trees. It is such a frightening experience.
I have had to get a cup of very hot water to swallow them down. Some people suggest eating a piece of bread. I also feel that getting out of the outdoors helps a lot. How have other people coped?

It's not just Lygon St. It's the whole damn City. They should rip these trees out and replace them they are a public health issue.

There actually is a plan to replace all the plane trees in the city for this exact reason, but it would be done over a period of time to cause minimum impact on the amenity and streetscape.
