Melbourne maps/locations

Postby Graday » Wed Feb 01, 2017 12:29 pm

In the Melbourne thunderstorm pollen out break in 2016
about 10 people died. Which suburbs were they in during the out break please?
Are there any maps of the affected suburbs?
Maps could include locations of people who called for help.

Hi Graday,
Answers to some of your questions are in the Inspector-General for Emergency Management's preliminary report, which you can download here http://www.igem.vic.gov.au/home/reports+and+publications/reports/review+of+response+to+the+thunderstorm+asthma+event+of++november+2016+preliminary+report.

Disappointed to see the pollen count does not resume until the 1st of October. I can assure you I have hay fever every March and September.

Sorry Sue, we do what our funding lets us do. But please tell us about your hay fever outside of the grass pollen season by downloading our free app and completing the symptom survey.

I don't understand why the pollen maps show Central district (Melbourne) as grey i.e. grey is not on the legend :?:

Thanks for the message. The central region is shown in grey because there are a number of pollen monitoring site in it and we're still trying to figure out how best to display the forecasts made by each of the sites. We're working on it though and hope to have something in place soon.

The colours for high and extreme look exactly the same. Is it just my eyes or are they too similar to tell apart?
